Help Getting Where You Need To Be
Door-to-door transportation is provided to medical appointments, nutritional sites, and essential errands for Clark County residents age 60 or better.
Eligibility
The USS Transportation service is available to Clark County residents age 60 or better, based on eligibility assessment.
The USS Transportation Service provides rides to:
- Healthcare appointments in the local area and in our region.
- Special treatments such as chemo, dialysis and wound care.
- Limited non-medical appointments for essential errands such as going to the pharmacy, local bank, post office, attorney’s office, or grocery.
Contributions for this service are appreciated.
Rules to Ride
In order to accommodate as many rides as possible, recommended for all riders and are first-come, first-served. Same day service is very limited.
Please call to request a ride at least two weeks in advance. Notifying USS as soon as possible will help us to meet your request, especially for out of town medical appointments. At your request, USS Transportation will work with your doctor’s office to coordinate your appointment time with your ride.
If you must cancel a ride for any reason, please notify USS Transportation at least 24 hours in advance.
All riders must be ready at their scheduled travel time. Drivers can only wait 5 minutes before leaving for their next ride. USS drivers provide door-to-door service and may not assist the rider beyond that point. USS drivers are not permitted to carry groceries or other items for the rider.
Safety First
Our first priority is a safe travel experience for all riders. All rides are provided by trained and certified USS drivers.
USS drivers escort all riders from the door of their home to the vehicle and from the vehicle to their destination. All riders are assisted while entering and exiting the vehicle.
Riders with wheelchairs and walkers are welcome. USS vehicles are equipped with accessibility ramps. All riders must properly use their provided seat belts before travel can begin, including lap belts for wheel chairs.
In the case of an emergency, USS drivers are required to call 9-1-1.
*USS is not responsible for any costs incurred.
Riding with USS
Demand for the USS Transportation service grows each year.
The USS Transportation service is comprised of 8 full-time drivers and staff and 8 fully accessible vans.
USS services and programs are made possible by funding provided by the Clark County Senior Services Levy, Title III grants under the Older Americans Act administered by the Ohio Department of Aging through the Area Agency on Aging PSA2, Mental Health Recovery Board of Clark County, Corporation for National and Community Service, Ohio Department of Transportation, Clark County Department of Job & Family Services, Springfield Foundation, Community Health Foundation, United Way of Clark County, member fees and donations. USS is non-discriminatory in services and employment, and facilities are accessible to all people.
